Twenty-five years.

I’m not entirely sure how that happened.

On September 10, Bedecked & Beadazzled celebrates 25 years online. Twenty-five years of canvases and threads and beads and classes and stitch guides and ideas. Twenty-five years of looking at things and wondering, “What if we did this?”

There have been a few Jessicas along the way.

And apparently, after 25 years, I still haven’t learned to leave well enough alone.

For quite some time now, there has been an enormous project happening behind the scenes at Bedecked & Beadazzled. You’ve heard bits and pieces about it. You’ve heard me complain about it. Some of you have even sent very sweet notes asking if I’m okay.

I am.

More importantly, I’m excited.

Because on Thursday, if all the technological stars remain properly aligned, we’re going to celebrate 25 years by showing you something very new.

And very us.

There are bigger pictures. Because if we’re going to fall in love with a canvas, we should actually be able to see it.

There are better ways to wander and discover.

There are new places for useful things that have been much too hard to find.

There’s more color. Lots more color.

There are artists and threads and stitch guides and all sorts of little details that make me ridiculously happy.

And underneath all the pretty is a lot of decidedly unpretty work designed to make Bedecked & Beadazzled stronger for whatever comes next.

Because that’s really the point.

Twenty-five years isn’t making me want to stop.

It’s making me wonder what else we can do.

P.S. A little housekeeping: the website will be offline for a bit on Wednesday while we make the switch. Don’t panic. We’re just moving the furniture. We’ll be back Thursday with lots to show you.
