Canvases that go together are a challenge. They need to match. They need to coordinate. It’s as simple as that. But, we are magpies, we are drawn to the new and sparkly. We like variety. What’s a girl to do?
French Cote d’Azur and French Capital City by Eleanor Grosch are the perfect example of canvases that need to go together, but we don’t want to stitch the same thing twice. At least I don’t want to. These two canvases were selected for this weekend’s embellishment class. They will ultimately live together. We could do the exact same stitches on both, but what’s the fun of that. I selected stitches in similar themes for the two canvases but kept them different so that they would still be fun to do!
The walls are wonderful open blackwork patterns that let the beautiful painting show through. They each use a variety of threads which keeps me happy.
Here’s the ordering links if you have the perfect spot in your home for French Capital City or French Cote d’Azur. They will come complete with stitchguides. Threads are also available.
I’ll keep featuring a canvas a day with its guide for this weekend’s embellishment class. Some of the guides are existing, you may have seen them before. Some of the guides are brand new. Some of the canvases are newer than new! We’re going to have a great weekend! We’ve done our best with all of the canvases we are about to show you to have canvases and threads in stock or soon to be in stock.
Our next embellishment classes with available space will be October 2nd and 3rd on zoom. We’d love to have you join us. Select a canvas that already has one of my guides and that I can, ahem secure the canvas in time and we’ll do the rest.
