Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas! I hope your day is filled with cozy moments, good food, and maybe even a little stitching time tucked in between the celebrations.
Lesson Two of Santa’s Pup felt like the perfect place to pause and soak in the magic of the season. This time around, we turned our attention to the background and that fabulous, over-the-top bow—and honestly, it doesn’t get more festive than this.

The background is filled with dots, and yes, there is always that question…
Do you stitch around the dots and let them quietly exist?
Or do you focus on the dots themselves?
You know me. Of course we focused on the dots.
Big, beautiful Eyelets stitched in Radiance Mini turn the background into a field of sparkle. They catch the light, add movement, and make the whole piece feel celebratory instead of flat. Sometimes the background deserves its moment, too.
And then there’s the bow. Ohhh, the bow.

The pup is still very much the star of the show, but that bow? I’m in love. It’s bold, blingy, and unapologetically festive. The front-facing edges are fully beaded, while the back sides of the ribbon are stitched in silk. That contrast gives the bow incredible dimension—it practically pops right off the canvas. A little stitching magic at work.
Lesson Two reminded me why I love mystery classes so much. Each step builds, surprises you, and adds another layer of joy. Much like Christmas itself.
The final lesson of this mystery is January 4th. What will I do to make Santa magical?
Thank you for stitching along with me, cheering from afar, and being part of this creative, colorful community. Wishing you a holiday filled with sparkle, warmth, and maybe just one more stitch before bedtime.

Ruth, I am pretty sure I am older than you and a needlepointer for most of my years. Never have seen a more beautiful bow. It is more than beautiful it is wildly creative. Needless to say I put my order in today. Kudos to you and your innovative mind.
This is just the sweetest note. Thank you so much. xo
