That’s the best word to describe an embellishment class. You come to class filled with anticipation. You have selected your canvas and submitted it for me to write a guide. I spend tons of time, writing and planning just the perfect thread stitch combo and then the day arrives. You come to class and see your canvas waiting for you. I hand out pretty bags of threads and the excitement builds. Then comes the guide. A hush falls as you see what’s in store.
From that point on there are three days of stitching fun and games. You work on your piece, you study your neighbor’s piece and ooh an aah. It’s tons of fun.
Did I really make Eleanor cry? Yes, we laughed until we cried.
And now, I get to share snippets of everyone’s canvas in progress.
Sheena of Sheena’s Sweet Stitches came to class! YAY Sheena!
It’s been much too long. She is working on lulu mypinkturtle’s Frida Dia de los Muertos.
If Day of the Dead isn’t your thing, perhaps you would prefer Seaside Houses from Melissa Shirley and stitched by Liz.
Catherine is stitching this amazing Maggie canvas Give Love, Love Big. This canvas is not for the faint of heart. Lots of tiny details and color changes are what is needed to bring it to life.
This is going to be a super fun stitch. Two Girls in Japan by Alice Peterson is a small canvas packed full of color and pattern! Jamie got a lot done in three days. Woo Hoo!
For more flowers, check out Este MacLeod’s Socks and Chloe! Eleanor is rocking this!
Carol and Wendy selected gigantic canvases! Wendy is doing the center of the zecca 2 birds rug and Carol is stitching Waiting and Waiting for My Date by Penny MacLeod. It’s very very tall.
In case you need a kitty break, here’s Johnny! This is what happens when you leave your seat.
Vicky is going to be stitching lots and lots of lace on the Queen Elizabeth Cat by Maggie.
Last but by no means least Sue is stitch the Fox at Night brand new from ellen giggenbach! This is a crazy fun stitch. Look how much she finished. Well, technically there’s more, but you can’t see it because it’s navy on navy!
Look at these happy stitchers. This is why I do this.
xoxo to everyone
