Here we are at lesson four of Sudden Realization by David Galchutt. This is our current Mystery Class. We covered a lot of real estate in this lesson. I’m leaving all the glamorous details for the next lesson. LOL. It’s never to late to join the fun. With each lesson of the Mystery, more is revealed. More stitches, more details, more beauty.
We started with the far right background using a softly angled stitch that closely mimics the angle of the painted stripes.
Next up were the lanterns. They need to be light and airy and float in the background. We chose very light coverage for the lanterns and beads for the frames.
These weren’t the only beads. We added rows of beads in her hair and outlining one of the fans. Look at those fabulous dagger beads in her hair!
Next lesson is in just about three weeks. My plan is this will be the last lesson. You know there are beads and embellishments galore in that lesson. We have hair ornaments and fans and flowers to stitch. It’s going to be so much fun! See you there.
If you would like a kit sent at the end of class and don’t have one on order, here’s the link. Can’t wait to have you join the party.

Nice article but PLEASE stop with the ” * and* and * oh my!”This is an 80 year old cliche from the Wizard of Oz that we have all heard. It totally needs to be laid to rest.
LOL. I like the wizard of oz. Glad you enjoy the articles. Just ignore the titles.
I love the way that the textures look like paint strokes. As with paint strokes, the light plays off of the threads with movement of light. This is by far and away the most sophisticated canvas to date for you Ruth! You have a great gift — thanks for sharing it with us all.
Everyone who has come to our home and seen her on my needlepoint stand is blown away! They look at for quite awhile noticing all the details. Really love her and each new lesson! Bravo!
Hi Ruth – I thought the class was going to be four lessons – can you tell us how many more there are going to be? I want to make sure I have someone picking up my shipments if I am out of town. I am loving her!
