If you’ve been following me for awhile, you probably know how my mind works. When I am picking stitches for a canvas, I try to replicate what the area would look like in real life. So, in the third lesson of our current Mystery Class, Lady With Lime Green Background by Colors of Praise, we styled her hair. Her hair is thick with a curl. That requires a certain set of styling skills, LOL.
I love the soft curves in her hair. They come to life with Crescents. Big beautiful crescents, a few strategically placed here and there aligning with the curves painted in her hair are all it needs to set the tone. The rest of her hair is filled with Tent Stitch.
As long as I was in a curly kind of mood, I decided the next area to stitch would be the rose on her headband. It’s a myriad of Bullions, French Knots and Twisted Lazy Daisy Stitches for even more texture. Look at that height! So much fun.
If you would like to stitch this lady, here’s the link. We can ship her in installments or at the end of the project, whichever you prefer. Lesson 4 is scheduled for February 23rd. I have more surprises planned for this and other projects so stay tuned. I promise there’s lots of fun and sparkle coming.

How were you able to make the roses so loose?
The loose curls are Twisted Lazy Daisy Stitches.
wow. are those bouillions done with a knitting needle??
All of the bullions were done with a bullion needle. The really loose ones are actually Twisted Lazy Daisy Stitches.
Okay, I’m bad! I did her hair in many crescents: then I used long and short stitches. No way was I tent stitching.
MMN
You aren’t bad. You are creative! Can’t wait to see it. xo
P.S. My Tent Stitch still isn’t done.
