This weekend was our annual Friends-Giving celebration — a weekend of stitching, sparkle, and joy shared with an amazing group of women, both in-person and on Zoom. This class is always one of my favorites of the year, and this time, we gathered around a canvas that’s near and dear to my heart: Autumn Moderne.

Designed by yours truly, this 10″ x 10″ canvas on 18ct is packed with beautiful, painterly moments and just the right balance of drama and ease.

Let’s talk about what makes it special…

🍂 The big pumpkin crescents — glorious sweeping shapes that create bold dimension with surprisingly little effort because yes, I made you paint by number charts!

🌿 The stem — lumpy, organic, and full of texture, thanks to the magic of just the right threads.

✨ The background — a stained glass mosaic that stitches up quickly and catches the light with just a whisper of sparkle.

🌸 And right at the center? A big, dramatic ribbon flower that steals the show and adds a fabulous three-dimensional moment.

🍁 The leaves — swoon. Painting them with silk is a tour de force of color.

It may be small-ish in size, but this canvas is absolutely full of joy. The colors, the flow, the movement — every section gives you something different to enjoy. And seeing everyone’s unique interpretations during class was the icing on the pumpkin pie.  Does pumpkin pie have icing?

Mystery Class News

Our first Mystery Class of 2026 has been announced.  Dots Upon Dots by Barbara Basso.  This 10″ x 10″ canvas on 18ct is everything I love: modern, whimsical, and packed with possibilities. Over three lessons we’ll bring our fashionable duo to life with threads, beads, and stitches that celebrate every single dot.  Class dates are January 25, February 15 and March 8 from 1-3pm on Zoom.  Here’s the link to signup.

Starting in Spring 2026 we will be stitching the Secret Garden by Mary Charles.  Official zoom class dates will be posted soon.  Design is 12″ x 15″ on 18ct.  It is packed full of tiny details that will be so much fun to stitch.  If you would like to join us, here’s the link.

Zecca’s Window of Opportunity is a long term mystery.  The first lesson just shipped so there is plenty of time to get caught up before lesson two.  This is a combination of three 8″ x 11″ canvases that when combined are show stopping!  Here’s your link for this one.
