It’s a tiny bird that I love! We stitched this as a mystery class last summer and it’s back from the finisher as a tailored pillow. It graces our front room at the beehive. Such a pretty canvas – Hummingbird designed by Zecca.
This is such a fun canvas to stitch. It’s just happy. It’s got great colors, fun stitches, pretty threads and beads. Oh and sequins! The flowers are filled with counted patterns and the hummingbird sparkles. I can hear his little wings.
While you are looking at these big photos, look at the background. This is a fabulous technique I learned from Brenda Hart and to this day it is one of my favorite things. Random Cross Hatch! It’s like doodling with thread. It adds just a bit of texture to the painted canvas without covering all the pretty paint! You know how I feel about the painted canvas. It’s so pretty, I don’t want to cover it all.
If you would like a happy canvas for summer stitching this could be your happy place. Here’s the link, or give us a call and we’ll take care of the details.
