Yesterday was the last day of Kelly’s visit to Bedecked and Beadazzled, for this year. Yes, it’s true, we are talking about a yearly visit. Cross your fingers, ladies.
The class format for the last two days worked out great. We did a “Stitch with Kelly” Party so we all had input on the the stitches and threads used in the design. So, as soon as Kelly and I finish the stitch guide for this canvas there will be three, count them three options for stitching the basket. How cool is that?
This is definitely a class format for those that are willing to test and experiment. We changed a few stitches and changed a few threads but had a great time doing it. I know all the mental gymnastics took its toll on Kelly but in the end we all came away having learned so much about the stitching and the design process.
We got through most of the boxes picking stitches and threads. Just look at these delicate ribbon roses gracing the ribbon on the bottom box. Kelly uses Memory Thread for padding. Great technique – It keeps your padding from taking on a life of its own and slipping while you are stitching.
A fun time was had by all. Just look at these glowing faces!
Kelly signed our wall so we know it’s true. She was really here.
Come back soon everyone, we love having you here!
That is wonderful. The memory wire is a great trick to know. We are all speculating on Stitcherie as to what made the bun feet. Do we have to wait for the stitch guide or are we going to get a hint?
Also, how big is this piece?
Yes indeed, it was a Fun & Fabulous weekend! Ruth's Shop is Fabulous,
the Classroom is phenomenal, the lunches were yummy, and best of all,
the stitchers were lovely,
accomplished ladies! We had a
simply delightful weekend packed with
learning, stitching, sharing and lots of laughter! Thanks to Ruth for all of her hard work and planning to bring this event together! And Thanks to all of you for putting up with some of my
'spacey' moments!
xoxo, Kelly
