As Thanksgiving arrives, I find myself pausing between piles of threads and cat snuggles to think about just how grateful I am. From this little Beehive of creativity, I’m sending love and thanks to every one of you who stitches, cheers, and celebrates with me.

I say this every year, but it never feels like enough — you are what makes this business so special. You’ve become friends and family, not just customers. We laugh together, we stitch together, and sometimes we even get a little glitter stuck to the cat together. You let me be part of your creative joy, and I never take that lightly.
I know I run my business a little differently. You won’t see Black Friday sales here or surprise markdowns. It’s not that I don’t love a good deal — I just believe in honoring the people who already believe in me. Instead of chasing sale frenzy, I put my heart into designing, teaching, and surprising you with projects that make you smile. I want my prices to stay consistent and fair for everyone, all year long. That’s my version of a thank you.
And oh, the things coming in 2026! New canvases, fun clubs, and even more Ruth threads to play with. It’s going to be grand — and it’s all fueled by your continued support, excitement, and encouragement. You make the magic possible.
On a more personal note, I’m thankful for my other great passion — rescuing cats. Karl and I have raised sixteen over the past forty years. They’ve been our kids, our companions, and our chaos. I don’t foster because, let’s be honest, I’d fail spectacularly. They all stay. They always do. Losing them is hard, of course, but the joy they bring far outweighs the heartbreak. They need me — and truthfully, I need them too.
This weekend, I get to celebrate Friendsgiving with 14 dear friends here at the Beehive and another 20 joining on screen. It’s the best kind of full house — full of laughter, color, and connection.
Thank you for sharing your holiday with me, for being part of this creative journey, and for letting me fill your inbox (and your stash!) with sparkly goodness.
Stay tuned — I can’t wait to show you Autumn Moderne after class. You’re going to want this one.

Big Texas sized hugs. Can’t wait to see you again. xo
Thank you for such a lovely note. Your needlepoint ideas, the canvases, beads and threads are such a continual inspiration. Most importantly is that my husband and I also rescue cats, not as many as you, just a few, that have enriched our lives in so many ways. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Susan S.
Hugs to you and your rescue kitties. Happy Thanksgiving. xo

Many, many heartfelt thanks to you Ruth for all that you do with pure joy and love. You are a great artist and teacher, and above all else, a deeply caring person. I feel very fortunate to have walked through your door by total happenstance so many years ago. You have been a gift to me ever since. I am thankful for having you in my life.
I’m the lucky one to have you in my life. Miss you lots. xoxo
