Back from the finisher and out for the holidays, this is Wildwood Birdhouses by Melissa Shirley Designs. We stitched this last year as our Thanksgiving Friends and Family class. It’s a very fun stitch, Carol stitched this one!
It’s 11″ x 18″ are full of flat graphic areas just waiting to be filled with stitches and threads.
There aren’t a ton of colors in this piece. A beautiful red, a fun range of greens, some tan and some gold. Let’s not forget the sparkly white snow. The snow is my favorite detail. Sequins for the snow on the ground and beads and crystals galore for the snow on the birdhouse roofs.
One of my favorite Gloriana silks makes delightful cardinals.
The trees are big wonderful quilt-like patterns.
Did I mention the snow? I love the snow.
And why not more sequins for berries?
All in all, it’s a fun stitch with as they say, not a lot of heavy lifting. I have a couple in stock so if you want one for the holidays, now is your chance! Here’s the link. I hope you are having a fabulous start to your week.
