Saturday before last we hosted Beth Robertson and Suzanne Howren at the shop for a little needlepoint therapy. Everyone can use a little therapy and needlepoint therapy is the best kind. We all had so much fun. Beth and Suzanne are the absolute best for taking on this challenge.
They arrived in the morning prepared for 50 minute sessions with individual students. Each student brought a canvas of their choice and could pick the brains of these two ladies for ideas and inspiration.
I can’t wait to see what comes of the electric storm of ideas. There will be witches and stockings and flowers — too many beautiful canvases to name but the ideas, oh the ideas!
Beth and Suzanne are the talented duo behind the Stitches for Effect series of books. These are must have compendiums of stitches for your collection as each diagram is not only clearly illustrated but gives you ideas for how to use the stitch (ie: makes good fur or grass or buildings. You get the idea.)
And the best part is that Beth and Suzanne have agreed to come back! They will be here in April of 2009. You can read all the details on our events page.
I just love taking classes and sharing ideas. There is so much to learn and experiment with!
Stitching with the masters in the most wonderful environment was a definite treat!!!I enjoyed the expertise of Sandy as we planned my witch canvas with stitches and threads. In one 50 minute session I learned so much.Ruth is a marvelous hostess and I look forward to my return.
I must correct my error in that I do have “magic momments of forgetfulness”. My wonderful experience was with Suzanne and it was truly exceptional. Her creativity and enthusiasm mad the canvas come alive. It has been lots of fun to work on and I can’t wait to return. Thank you Ruth for the opportunity.
