If you know me, you know I have a thing for shoes. Okay, I have a thing for sparkly blingy things and for shoes, oh and for handbags but that’s not the point right now.
These are amazing needlepointed shoes. They needed to have a fun pattern that didn’t have direction as one shoe is a side view and the other is an angle. The stitch needed to flow at both angles so that they look like a matched pair.
I love these shoes. I may love them a little more if they were smaller as they would have stitched quicker. But they are fun, fun, fun shoes.
This was the main topic of lesson #3 of Broom Parking at Bedecked and Beadazzled. The shoes are stitched in Neon Rays with accents of Neon Rays+ for the shadows.
The real fun of the shoes are the Swarovski Neon Orange Pearls. They make amazing dots. They really do glow.
We added swirled black and white buttons for the ornaments on the shoes; or are they eyes? Kinda creepy when you start seeing eyes everywhere.
You know I love ribbon almost as much as I love beads, so for me there was no better choice than ribbon for the shoe ruffles.
The sparkly red magic wand was the other big accomplishment of this lesson. Beads and crystals of assorted sizes, shapes and shades. All were sewn on randomly to allow the light to reflect at different angles.
We’re moving right along. Next lesson is November 11 and we’ll finish up the frogs and the borders then. It’s been a fast fun ride and Halloween is upon us.
