It’s September 2, which means spooky season has officially begun! 🎃💀 And what better way to kick things off than with Sugar Skull by Sandra Vargas?

This is not your average Halloween design. It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it’s full of heart — literally. Look closely and you’ll find hearts tucked into her hair, framing her eyes, and even right in the center of her glowing forehead. Every stitch in this piece tells a story — and the story is one of sparkle, celebration, and stitching outside the box.

The stitched version you see here? That’s Kim’s masterpiece. From the lush ribbon flowers (with skull bead centers, of course) to the vivid, stitch-painted poppies, every detail brings this canvas to life. And that background? Textured. Dramatic. Just enough sparkle to make her eyes pop. It’s spooky glam at its finest.

🧵 Each canvas comes with my full stitch guide, walking you through all the magic — thread by thread, technique by technique. There are fun challenges, lots of texture, and moments where you’ll stand back and say “YAY!” (Probably out loud. We support that here.)
🎉 Kits are available now, but we’ve got a limited number in stock — so if this stitched sugar skull is speaking to your spooky-loving soul, don’t wait! We’ll have more kits ready by the end of the year, but why not start your Halloween stitching now?
Here’s the link to order — because the best way to summon fall is with a fabulous canvas and a handful of sparkly threads.
Mystery Class News
My New Skull by Sharon Hendy-Moman starts Sunday. We have a few canvases available if you would like to join the fun. Sign up Here! There are three classes planned for this Mystery with the second and third lessons scheduled for September 28 and October 19th. Just in time for Spooky-season!

Our current mystery class is Robotic Uprising by David Galchutt. We are five classes in. The sixth class will be as soon as threads arrive. Stay tuned for that date. All classes are on zoom! We have canvases available. I promise this is a fun stitch. Here’s the link to join the Uprising.

Not to be left out, we have a fabulous Zecca canvas, Window of Opportunity starting as a mystery in May. This one won’t be on zoom — it’s a series of kits mailed straight to your door. Each panel of this triptych fits on 12×15 bars—easy to hold, but when framed? A total showstopper. Here’s the link for this one.
