My original plan for our current Mystery Class, the Sirens by David Galchutt was to have 4 lessons. What was I thinking? There are too many fabulous details in everyone of David’s paintings that need to be explored!
In the fourth lesson of the Sirens, the third siren had her hair done! She has lots of hair and a bunch of different styles going on all at once. Her hair needed to be big and bold. It’s partially Diagonal Long Stitch and Outline Stitch but there’s so much more. She has big dramatic Princess Leia buns of ruched Petite Frosty Rays and a beautiful ruffle across the top of her head. There are fun curls in her hair that are bold and dimensional. Even her braid is fun. It’s a Laid Filling Stitch. See, I told you she had a lot going on in her hair.
Once the hair was complete, it was time to stitch the plants on the sea floor. You know I love Crescents so here we go! Layered Crescents, twice the fun.
The Sirens are coming to life!
I have one final lesson to post. It’s the most dramatic yet! We have more canvases arriving next month. Now is the time to claim one of the canvases if you would like to stitch your very own Sirens. Lead time for canvases these days is very long. The canvas will come complete with stitchguide and I’ve even been making videos for some of the trickier bits. Here’s the link to order.
