YUM!!!! They look good enough to eat.
Mom stitched this piece with the help of Brenda Hart’s talented stitch and thread selections. Brenda is part of our teaching faculty and comes to the shop as often as she can, to hold canvas embellishment classes with us. We have a small group each time. Each stitcher has a unique canvas. Brenda works round robin style selecting threads and stitches for each of us as she goes around the tables. Its a lot of fun and we all learn tons. It’s fun to see other people’s canvases come alive under her vision.
My favorite parts of this canvas are the tablecloth and the background. They are simple open stitches. The tablecloth is a Kennan variation stitched with silk and accentuate. It’s very effective – an elegant stitch choice. The canvas is a John Johanssen by Melissa Shirley Designs and was originally painted very watercolory. The threads and stitches keep that look. That’s true magic.
Brenda is coming back the second weekend in September and again next March. If you would like to join us visit out Classes page to read the details and dates of the classes. Find out what’s on our schedule by going to our homepage and clicking on News and Events. We still have room in the March class. We’d love for you to join us.
It is a Linda Carter Holsom under Melissa Shirley and I say this only to say others time as I had a difficult time finding it. Thank you.
