Boy did we have fun and learn a lot!!! Apollinariya Koprivnik was here this past weekend from Slovenia. She taught her style of beaded jewelry. She calls it Beaded Architecture. Oh My! It’s complex and gorgeous. Each piece is more ingenious than the next. So many fun techniques.
Polina is a delight of a teacher. Since it’s Halloween, I couldn’t resist starting with this photo of Polina wearing my Melissa Shirley witch’s hat.
Our first class was Mirrors which is a wonderful two-part pendant.
The top cabochon is bead woven and the bottom is bead embroidered. A little of this and a little of that! There are lots of fabulous little details in the piece. I finished my top cabochon and am well on my way to the second one. The labradorites are gorgeous.
Look at all these happy ladies in class. Thank you all for coming! I love you all.
The second class was Snowflakes. This piece is completely beadwoven. I am hooked. I want to make it in all sorts of colors. So fun and challenging.
Look at the difference a subtle change of one bead makes.
I even finished mine. It was late at night after two long days but I did it!
Thank you Apollinariya for coming and sharing your talent. We appreciate it so much and had a fabulous time.
For those of you who were wondering, the STITCH sign from the classroom resides at the beehive and I even remember to turn it on sometimes.
Big hugs.

P.S. Check out the necklace Polina is wearing. It’s Encore by Liisa Turunen, magically stitched by Susan. It’s not too much sparkle!
