They say the eyes are the window to the soul. That’s true of owls too, right?
Today was the second lesson of the Halloween Hooter Mystery Class at Bedecked and Beadazzled and it was a hoot!
Check out those eyes! They are big and bold and perfectly in keeping with our halloween hooter’s sense of whimsy. Simple circles of felt stacked with a sequin for the highlight.
His fluffy face was an interesting experiment. I knew exactly the stitch I wanted to use and the thread. The catch was that I was having a Goldilocks moment. One strand of burmilana was too thin and two strands were too thick. Grrr. What’s a girl to do? I divided up the stitch working part with two strands and part with a single strand. Woo Hoo! Now I had the best of both worlds. The right coverage, the stitch I liked and the thread I liked.
We added big fluffy feathers to his chest. I do like long stitches. Instant gratification!
He’s awfully cute!
Next lesson is in two weeks. I’ve got to get stitching.!
