Here we are with the last lesson of the Owl with Key by Sandra Vargas and you get to see what was in my head all along!
I know, my head is a scary place some days. So many ideas! Some better than others, LOL. This was a good one. So fun to do and different.
I loved the flower in the center of the owl’s tummy so it needed to be really special. I already had ribbons planned for the white flowers so it was time for something really different. The flower is bead embroidered with a wonderful Czech button in the center and pearls and new shaped beads. It’s very fun to do.
This flower would make a great pin to wear in the spring or a fun pendant, or a focal flower in a needlepoint garden. Let me know if we should think about kitting it as it’s own thing outside of the Owl needlepoint.
I added a few more embroidered motifs to the background and I’m happy with the balance now.
The owl’s eyes are felt. I even die cut them for you 🙂 Aren’t you glad I didn’t decide to completely bead the eyes?
The sweet white flowers are ribbon and Straw Silk with sparkly Swarovski crystals in the center.
There you have it, we’re ready for the next adventure.
I’m working on the next girl in the Row of Ladies. Wait until you see here hair. My goal pending thread arrivals is to ship her in the next couple of weeks.
