Today we started a new mystery class. La Sirena is complete so it was time to think Halloween!
We started Dede’s Haunted Hooter. It’s a great canvas with lots of opportunities for the unusual.
We stitched a lot of yellow. Yellow, yellow and more yellow.
The chest is getting fluffy with a bit of texture.
The wings needed a light coating of yellow so that the details will pop forward.
And then there is the background. We could stitch the entire background, but I chose a different path, a wide band of yellow, subtle yet bold. The color blends in but the stitch gives us enough texture to add some weight.
It doesn’t look like much yet, but trust me, it’s going to come together.
Of course if it is a mystery, it needs go withs.
There is the very limited edition snap tray by Carol Eix that can be ordered.
We have a few more coming in for the next lesson.
It’s stupid cute with the googly eyes.
Everyone gets a cute owl magnet.
And there are owl scissor fobs! Call if you would like us to send you one.
We were delighted to welcome a pair of new students today.
Vangy and Frankie came to stitch with us and were super fun!
Frankie is a love sponge. Rumor has it he is exhausted. He had a big day, charming all the ladies.
Lesson two is in 3 weeks. Jill Rigoli will be here next weekend and then its Labor Day.
Where has the summer gone?
Love all the textures!
