Today was lesson three of Fantail by ellen giggenbach our current mystery class. The last class was all about dots. Dots, dots and more dots. And yes, there are more dots to come, but today we morphed the dots into flowers. Not a big jump but it’s oh so pretty.
The cute little round stitches next to the bird
and now in the pretty lavender part
have now been moved around like the pieces of a puzzle to make flowers!!! It’s a fun combination of stitches and threads, some silk, some Petite Silk Lamé Braid. The difference in the thread weights changes the look of the stitch entirely.
Dimensional flowers were added over the painted ones in two areas. The photos don’t really capture how sweet and sparkly they are but trust me they are super cute.
So, here we are, three lessons in with two more to go. There’s three weeks until the next lesson and much going on. Stay tuned to watch the fun unfold.
If you have been eyeing Fantail and would like one for your very own, now is the time to join the fun. We have canvases in stock and can send 3 lessons now. I have been told this is the trifecta of stitching fun – small areas of stitches, layered stitches and not too much compensating. Here’s the link to order online or give us a call at 410.296.0405.
