Yesterday was the first lesson of Blue Cat in the Jungle by Johanna Virtanen. It was a lovely relaxing class spent with friends old and new from all over the country and the UK! The first lesson is always pretty quiet. We have to set the stage for all the things to come.
The background is a fun open stitch worked with Painters Thread Soie Perlee and Perle Cotton #16. It’s a subtle contrast that adds just a little surprise when you look closely.

The rocks at the bottom are black so whatcha gonna do? We did two different stitches that coordinate nicely. And of course you know I had to add texture with embellishments.

Here we are at the end of lesson one. I think the kitty cat is next! But we’ll see what happens. Stay tuned.

It’s not too late to join our Mystery Class. We have Blue Cat in the Jungle canvases in stock. You could easily get caught up if you would like to join the party. The next class is April 28th from 1-3pm Here’s the link.
