Fifi in her Garden by Johanna Virtanen is our current Mystery Class. We just started her and she is the cheekiest pup ever! Her colors are perfect for the Spring/Summer days we are having here. She’s white with polka dots, nothing wrong with that. You know I love polka dots. The fun challenge with this piece will be all of the black outlines. How should we handle those to honor the art but still have a fun stitch. Stay tuned as that mystery evolves.
With each of our Mystery Classes I post updates here so you can see how it evolves and pick up a tip or two for your other stitching projects.
In the first lesson of Fifi we focused on stitching her. She’s covered in dots so I chose a stitch to play off the dots for her body. She is stitched in Soie d’Alger Optique for the brightest clearest white.
Her black polka dots sparkle with sequins and metallic threads.
I have lots of gorgeous threads on order for Fifi and all sorts of treasures. If you would like to join the fun we have canvases in stock and can ship her your way quickly. Here’s the link to order. We can ship lessons individually or ship complete at the end of the class
I’ve got lot’s cooking to share, so stay tuned. More coming soon!
