Look at this guy! He is bright and happy and full of life and motion. He’s perfect for summertime stitching. Sunday was the final class of Beep Beep by Dominic Borbeau!
We added another darning pattern with a twist to the background. Yes, it looks much like a laid filling but the stitch order keeps it slightly flatter and in the background.
I love the sky. It’s one of my favorite areas of this canvas. Simple bars of Diagonal Gobelin give the whole piece a sense of movement, and this guy is moving fast!
If you know me, you know I couldn’t resist adding more beads. His legs are beaded and super cute.
There are tiny clusters of beads making a border along the roadrunner’s wing. CUTE!
And why not add more sparkle with crystals on his tummy! You know I like sparkle.
Look at the cactus. I couldn’t resist Turkey Work on the cactus.
Overall, lots of fun stitches and pretty threads. That’s really all this girl wants.

This weekend we host Marjorie Garcia Barnes and her fabulous beadwork designs. Next weekend we will start the White Cat by Johanna Virtanen. He’s a cutie pie! You know what to do if you want to join the fun.

Would love to know how you did the 5-bead cluster; I have a little girl’s skirt where that would be quite useful.
Hi – Sew on 4 beads, the regular way. One over each canvas intersection. two rows of 2 beads. Now add a 5th bead in the center. Don’t pull too tight. You want that 5th bead to sit on top of the other 4. Have fun. xo
