Today we lost one of the treasures of our community, our friend Brenda Hart. It’s been a hard day.
Brenda was a shining star. So much talent and so much willingness to share her ideas. She taught us all so much whether in person or through her books. Most importantly she brought us together through the love of stitching.
She was quirky and a magpie – always drawn by the shiny pretty things. That memory makes me smile.
To say Brenda was my mentor is not enough. I’m a better stitcher because of her. I owe her more than I can say.
Love ya, Brenda. Miss you lots.

I’m so so sorry Ruth, she was wonderful! So many great ideas….such a giving person… she will be terribly missed, Lee
Oh, no! Such sad news. A great loss to the art and craft of needlepoint.
So sorry to hear this. Have quite a few of her designs in my stash. May she Rest In Peace.
She was someone that I always wanted to take a class from. Her infectious spirit for our art will be missed! For those who knew her well and not only my reputation, I’m so sorry for your loss!!
So sad.
I’m so sorry to hear this. She was a unique spirit and excellent teacher.
I never had the pleasure of learning from her .
I’m sure she will be missed .
I’m so very, very sorry to learn this. She guided me through many canvases – her ideas for stitches and the right threads were genius. Rest in peace, dear Brenda.
My favorite teacher. We had fun chatting about her bright and quirky pens.
This is such sad news. She was such a talent and such an inspiration. I’ve had a few in my stitching days…I’ve been lucky. I will think of her often.
I am so sorry.

She was a true character and I thoroughly enjoyed our chats at markets. I first met her through Sharon G, both a wealth of knowledge and very willing share with me when I was just starting out.
Some people should live forever because they are wonderful and talented and she is one of those.
Thank you for letting us know. So many classes and lots of lessons over the years, many of my completed projects show her guidance and creativity. I only have 2 left unfinished. They are now moving up to top of 2023 items to stitch. Brenda was true inspiration and joy. Took our craft to a whole new level. We will miss her. What a love!
Even though I have never met you , Ruth, I know how much the loss of a dear friend causes such grief.
I have shopped with you and enjoyed your posts and wanted to wish you peace, compassion and love in the coming days without Brenda. She will be with you forever.
She was a star so light filled that she could lead the way for us all. And lead she did!! A once in a lifetime gift of love. Brenda, you are loved!!
Ruth! So sorry to hear this. It’s hard to lose a mentor. My guess is that she’s counting on you to keep her spirit alive and I have every confidence that you will.
I saw a shooting star and knew it had to be Brenda lighting up the night sky just as she brightened all things here on earth…she will be missed, but will live on through her amazing books! What a legacy! I’m smiling just thinking of her sweetness!
So sorry, a great lady
I’m so sorry, Ruth. She was truly wonderful, talented, quirky and fun. What a great loss to our NP community. I feel blessed to have taken many classes from her… all at your shops I believe, so thank you! I’ll always remember the fun – and “quirky” – laughs we had about our favorite sparkly threads.
She was amazing. I hope she is looking down on us now feeling all of our love.
