Wow! Oh Wow! This piece hits all the right notes. Beautiful art. Beautiful stitching and Beautiful framing.
Interpreted from the art of David Galchutt, allow me to share Distracted Fairy stitched by Carol. Oh my! I can’t say enough good about this. She knew the moment she saw it that she wanted to stitch it in an embellishment class. I wrote the guide and she executed it beautifully.
David’s art is full of details and shading. It requires a light touch when stitching but that doesn’t mean it has to be flat. Look at all those flowers!
Her clothing is rich and luxurious.
Silks, metallics, beads, they bring the canvas to the next level. We used just a few beads, LOL.
When Carol finished stitching it, we sent it to the framer and she worked magic! Carol wanted the wings to drift onto the mats. That’s what we did! Magic and ethereal.
Thank you Carol for sharing this beauty with us. Xo
If you would like to stitch your own fair, here’s the link. Canvases are in-stock. Threads are about 6 weeks out.
