Have you seen this? Oh My! Every area is its own little gem of creativity. But that’s the magic of a kimberly design. She paints. She stitches. She is an artist.
She has an affinity for dragons. 🙂 This is Father and Son, here’s the story of Filius’ first flying lesson as written by Lisa Reifsnider.
Filius knew he was late to his flying lesson. He was supposed to meet his Pater in the sword room. As Filius peeked over the edge of the sword room tapestry, he could see his father tapping his fin-gers on the marbled ledge. The rune border behind him told the stories of the great dragons that came before. Filius wondered if any of them had been scared to learn to fly. The look on Pater’s face was becoming more serious by the moment. Filius would have to find some bravery soon or Pater would become angry. Pater spied his little son, Filius, peeking over the top of the tapestry. He used the moment to begin the lesson and set Filius at ease. “I’m not sure why anyone would be afraid to fly,” he said to himself but loud enough for his voice to fill the room so Filius could hear. “Flying is so easy It just takes practice. You flex the wings to catch the air and hop around to find the air drafts.” Filius watched intently as Pater seemed to magically float. He hopped down from his hiding place and started following Pater around the giant room. “The sword room is ideal for flying practice because the air currents are perfect. Just stretch out those wings,” Pater turned slightly to see Filius stretching out his wings. “Feel the air flowing over them,” again Filius did as Pater did. “Let the air pull you up and float along.” Filius squeaked with delight, for his roar was not fully formed yet, as he was floating next to Pater. A look of pride replaced the annoyed look Pater had while waiting for his son to arrive. The two dragons continued to float around the sword room, until Mater called them for supper. “Good job, Filius. You’ll be soar-ing in no time!”
Would you like to stitch your own Father and Son Dragons and learn all of these wonderful stitches and techniques? Here’s the link. I have a very limited number of canvases in stock now with thread kits in process. Hopefully the remaining ones will be here soon. More canvases are due at the end of the year, so if you would like one, please let us know so that we can put your name on one.
I’m not sure where the time is going these days, it’s flying along at an incredible pace. I can’t believe how long it’s been since I have written. More exciting news soon.
