Well, here we are, lesson #4 of the Snowman’s Nose mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled……
The comment has been made when looking at this canvas how busy it is.
That’s true, there’s a lot going on. That’s one of the things I love most about it.
When it is simply a painted canvas it’s hard to distinguish foreground and background. Once we start adding details and pulling some items forward and pushing others to the back, we bring the details into focus. You start to see that it’s a snowman with birds on his nose peeking through a wonderfully embellished frame. Remember those great sugar eggs we used to get at Easter? That’s the feeling I’m trying to achieve here. The frame is super embellished and flashy like a sugar egg. The snowman is inside peeking out.
The borders are completed in this lesson giving us an anchor to the outside edges of the design.
The leaves are completely beaded. That’s one of those things I knew from the start I was going to do 🙂 Lot’s of sparkle on the sugar coated border. I used size 14 silver lined beads here and swarovski crystal beads for the heart so that they would both create different sparkles!
The striped borders around the outside edge are fun little patterns of Crossed Stitches and beads. Yes, we beaded a border! It’s a quickie.
Two more weeks and we’ll be done. We have the hearts and berries in the border to finish and our 3 cute little birdies!
