Yesterday was the last lesson David Galchutt’s Sudden Realization Mystery Class. I started with the plan of stitching this in 4 lessons, it grew to 5 and I probably could have turned it into 6. There are just so many tiny fabulous details on this canvas.
I may be wishing for another lesson but we covered it all . The flowers really are the star of the show. We created big fluffy flowers on her gown.
And there are big plans for the embellishments in her hair. The beauty here is that once you finish the basketweave or T Stitch base you can just keep adding pearls, crystals and French Knots of ribbon. More is more! So, while they aren’t all finished you can definitely see where we are going. She is going to be spectacular!
The cherry blossoms trailing across the bottom are again, more and more, but not too much more. LOL. Start with a base of a little Tent Stitch, and then add some sequins, beads and more ribbon! Yes, it’s true, my basketweave isn’t done. That’s my achilles heal. Where is my stitching elf?
Hope you like my vision. We’re happy to kit her up and send her to you if you would like to stitch your own geisha. She is now a painted canvas complete with stitchguide. Here’s the magic link, or give us a call at 410.296.0405.
