Happy New Year
As this year wraps up, I’m starting with what many of you request more than stitch diagrams: cat photos. I don’t know why I resist this. They are my furry little tribe, my studio managers, and the reason nothing important is ever left unattended on my desk.

Sawyer!

Harley

Quinn and Alfie

Quinn again because she is Quinn

Callie!
It’s been a year of stitching, teaching, experimenting, and learning. A year of beautiful projects, challenges, and watching people try something new and then say, “Wait… I can do this?” Those moments are my favorite. Ladder Stitch beading anyone?
There was also a lot of quiet, behind-the-scenes work this year. The unglamorous kind. The slow kind. The kind that doesn’t photograph well but absolutely matters. I spent a lot of time thinking about how things work, not just how they look — and that work will keep showing up in small ways.
If you stitched with me, joined a class, followed a mystery, asked questions, or just hung out quietly in the background, thank you. This community continues to be smart, curious, and generous — and I’m very grateful for that.
Wishing you a happy, healthy 2026, with good light, good color, and at least one project that surprises you.
