OMG! Check out that spider. He has amused me since the start of this canvas and now at the he is even sillier. What can I say? Every skeleton wearing a witch hat needs a spider dressed like a pirate 🙂
Today was the final lesson of the David Galchutt Boo! Mystery Class. There’s a lot going on in this canvas and it is all so fun. If you aren’t already part of the fun and would like a complete kit, give us a call at 410.296.0405 or order online here.
The spider web is now complete. Super easy thanks to the perfect color of Kreinik Metallic Threads.
Our little spider friend has curly fun legs. I’ve even created my first video to show you how I did it. This will help my long distance visual learners. If you like this, I will try to do more.
And we have a video for the spider’s antennae. This is the corkscrew stitch. Love this stitch for all the dimension it adds.
Here he is, almost finished. Just need to finish the beading and he’s off to the framer.
Now I am finishing the next lesson of Santa Fe Felines and getting ready for the Hare and the Crow class Thanksgiving weekend. See you soon.

FABULOUS videos! It's easy to see everything well, the steps are explained clearly, and you make it all look easy and fun. Please do more! We are all about the eye candy, after all.

OMG it is easy 🙂 In class yesterday the girls who read ahead were concerned and then I did a spider leg and they looked at me and said, that's it???? Yep, that's it. I could make it look a lot harder but why. We're here to have fun. I'll keep trying the videos. Thanks for the encouragement.
Ruth – The videos were great! You have a knack for explaining things clearly and concisely with easy to follow steps whether it be in stitch guide or video form! I hope you will keep the videos coming! Love the finish on this canvas. So many interesting stitches! The spider is my favorite part. And if Mr. Galchutt ever decides to do a smaller canvas with just the spider for you, I'd buy it!
I see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.
Your blog is very useful for me & i like so much…
Thanks for sharing the good information!
