Those two words totally sum up not only our weekend of festivities with Julie Haymaker, Queen of Shrinkets but Julie herself. She is just too cute. She’s a happy, fun ball of energy. 🙂
On Friday we made fabulous necklaces called PinWheel Dreams. These are just a few of the finished pieces.
Julie demonstrated various coloring techniques for shrink plastic.
And then we heated the shapes using Julie’s molds to create the flowers on the necklaces. Next came wire wapping to finish the piece. All the details are clearly planned out so that everyone’s necklace is a guaranteed success at the end of the day. Yes, at the end of the day we had finished necklaces. How cool is that?
Friday night we played with rubber stamps and stencils to create Ruby Hearts.
Day two was Julie’s number one design, Wearing Wonderland. A super fun charm bracelet.
More coloring and shrinking and beads and sequins…..
Sunday was a mixed media extravaganza. We made Queen of the Night. Yes, we actually did complete our dolls! I however forgot to get a group shot.
I can’t begin to tell you how many techniques Julie packed into one class. Paper clay, patina, wire wrapping, the list goes on and on.
Mica powders were my favorite part.
Kay’s too.
Thank you Julie for an incredible three days. We will see you again next year. Until then we will continue to create Shrink plastic fun long distance.
To everyone who joined us on this adventure, thank you for coming. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
