One of the things I wanted the new website to do was make it easier to wander.
Because sometimes you know exactly what you’re looking for.
And sometimes you absolutely do not.
So when you wander into Needlepoint on the new site, you have choices.
You can Shop All, which is exactly what it sounds like. Everything. All at once. A glorious hot mess for those of you who are brave enough.
You can visit Most Loved, which is a collection of some of my favorites — canvases I’ve stitched, projects where I think you’ll learn something, designs I love teaching, and pieces that have earned their place there for one reason or another.
You can Shop by Theme if you have something particular in mind. Cats. Dogs. Halloween. Christmas. And yes, this is also where we’ve tucked away useful things like shopping by 13-count or 18-count mesh.
But the one I really wanted to show you today is Shop by Artist.
Because an artist’s name doesn’t necessarily tell you very much.
A picture does.
So instead of giving you a long list of names and expecting you to know who everyone is, the new Artist page gives you a little visual introduction.
One image.
One tiny clue.
Maybe you recognize the artist immediately.
Maybe you’ve never heard the name before, but that one image makes you think, Wait. What’s that?
And down the rabbit hole you go.
Click on an artist and you’ll find their canvases along with a little introduction — something about the artist, their work, or sometimes simply why I love what they do.
Because after 25 years, I’ve collected a lot of artists.
Some I’ve worked with for years. Some are exclusive to Bedecked & Beadazzled. Some have become friends. Some make work that looks nothing like anything else I carry.
That’s part of what makes this fun.
You don’t have to know what you’re looking for before you start.
Sometimes you just need to see something that makes you want to look again.
Go wander.
You may find someone you didn’t know you loved.
