Kimberly Santini is our newest artist. She is a long time friend of mine and I am excited she is allowing us to interpret some of her work into needlepoint.
I met Kim through the magic of the internet buying a painting of her Mona Lisa that reminded me of Max when he was a kitten. See, it does all link to cats. 🙂
From there, there were more paintings as she did sketches of my boys. When they are all complete I will blog about them. They are fun painted sketches that catch the essence of their personalities.
In 2015 she was the Kentucky Derby artist! How cool is that? She offers workshops and commissions and paints everyday, posting it to facebook so that we who are so far away can keep up with her talents.

Now, I am pleased to say we can needlepoint her art too.
This is our current collection of canvases. Yes, they have lots of colors, that is the beauty of Kim’s work. If you aren’t in to all that basketweave, consider an open stitch worked in accentuate over the entire canvas adding just a bit of sparkle and magic to the canvas.
I’ll be back with more fun stuff soon.
