Wowza, look who has joined the party, and just in time for the New Year!
This is the fourth girl in our Row of Ladies Mystery With a Twist at Bedecked and Beadazzled and she’s rockin in the New Year.
She is the most opulent of our group so far. It’s appropriate she joined us for the holidays.
Her golden stole is beads. Beads, beads and more beads. So full and lush.
Her skirt is a magical stitch. When you look at the pattern the stitches show a very strong diagonal from lower left to upper right, but then you start stitching and magic happens. You start seeing the opposite diagonal. And then viola, more magic, it evens out and you have a stitch that is non-directional. I like non-directional stitches for clothing in needlepoint because just like with real clothing we don’t want a stitch that makes our butts look bigger.
The final touch is the addition of jewels on her skirt and she’s ready for the limo that’s waiting at the door.
Happy 2013!

Ruth, seeing the ladies together almost makes me wish I'd taken the canvas as it was originally designed. Almost, but not quite. 🙂
