Yesterday was the third lesson of House Hunt by Tapestry Fair. It’s coming right along but there’s still a lot to do!
The challenge with a canvas that has so many small spaces and beautiful details is how to make it come to life in stitches without making it look flat or like a sampler. We certainly don’t want it to look less pretty stitched than it did as a painted canvas.
The large orange flower does incorporate a patterned stitch and then there are simply long stitches and embroidery stitches to make it come to life.
The little flowers need little stitches.
More pretty threads allow the painting to show through.
The big pink flowers and the pretty birdies are next. See you in two weeks with more stitches for this project and in between with other fun stuff.
