She really is the sweetest little girl with her deer. Look at those faces! Love them! We have completed the first lesson of our current mystery class, lulu mypinkturtle’s girl with deer.
I posted on facebook a reveal of the first thread kit. Follow me there if you want silly sneak previews. Here’s the link.
What did we do in lesson one? We stitched the deer’s antlers in velvet! But of course, what else would they be? I used a fun open stitch, you could also simply stitch them in Tent Stitch.
The deer’s head is stitched in two sister stitches. Both stitches are non directional which make them perfect for use on the deer’s head. The one on her face is a laid filling stitch worked over a single strand of Petite Silk Lamé Braid.
The deer’s eye is sweet and made even more dramatic with a Crescent eyelid.
Here we are at the end of lesson one. I’m totally out of character here. I didn’t stitch the background first. What will lesson two bring? the background? LOL.
If you would like to join the fun, here’s the link to order, or give us a call at 410.296.0405.
The next lesson is December 8th so you have plenty of time to catch up.
