Thank you to everyone who ordered during our 12 Days of Holiday Fun. It was a blast! I’m so glad you were excited about the deals and surprises we offered. We are packing and shipping as fast as we can. The flurry of eblasts delayed my posting lesson two of Girl with Deer. Please accept my apologies. Let’s get on with the show.
This little girl really is a cutie pie, looking up at her dear deer friend. Designed by lulu mypinkturtle, and our current Mystery Class, this is a fun stitch.
Her face is a combination of stitches with light and full coverage to replicate the look of the original art. All of Lulu’s girls have strong features.
Her hair is simply long stitch worked with Flair. The magic here has to do with the position of the stitches. It’s necessary to think about how hair grows and what the direction of the stitches should be when stitching it.
A brand new stitch, a beautiful overdyed silk and beads combine to create a tweedy look for her dress. It’s perfect for winter. Let’s not forget her pearls, a lovely soft rose color.
There is snow on the deer’s antlers. Nice puffy white snow that is a combination of ruched frosty rays and drop beads! Quick and easy to do with big results!
You’ve been asking for a video on how to ruche Petite Frosty Rays so here you go.
We’ll finish her up just before Christmas. We have flowers and birds and the background to stitch. What was I thinking, stitching the background last. That is so unlike me.
Here’s the link if you would like a complete kit at the end of class.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season.
