Today was the first day of our newest mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled. This one is special to me as it is not only a canvas I am designing the stitches for, but one I designed the art for. The Halloween tree is part of my tree series that includes the Village tree and […]

Meet my new BFF
Please allow me to introduce the first of our ladies! You’ve waited very patiently for her unveiling and here she is! This is the first girl to be stitched in our Row of Ladies – Mystery with a Twist Class. Yes, this means we start shipping the ladies today! Hopefully we will be on track […]
The tree is in full bloom!
It’s amazing what a little greenery will do for a room or a canvas for that matter. It brings everything to life. Today we finished our tree by Colors of Praise and I am really pleased with the leaves on the tree. We used a combination of traditional needlepoint and ribbon embroidery. The ribbon […]
Some of my favorite things
Some of my favorite things are my Walker Bags. I love Walker Bags. We have all sorts of Walker Bags in the shop. They are perfect for keeping all the parts of a project in one zip top spot. They breathe so no worries there. And they are pretty and colorful. You know I love […]
Check out those floor tiles!
Between loud crashing thunderstorms today was the third mystery class for our tree. It took a little experimenting but I am finally happy with the floor tiles under the tree. I needed to invent a stitch that followed the same angle as the painted tiles and allowed us to change colors as needed. I did […]
What says Halloween more than Robin King?
This has been a whirlwind weekend. We had a cash and carry tradeshow in town which brought a bunch of our favorite people with it. Robin King was at the shop yesterday teaching Bones! He is the 10th Creepy Character designed exclusively for us. How cool is that? Even if you couldn’t attend class, you […]
Now it’s a book
First it was a cd with 481 repeat patterns for needlepoint. Now it’s a book! Everything has it’s day…. Have you ever had an area of a canvas where you want a little extra detail but a textured stitch is too much. What about a stripe? That could work. What about a pattern of dots. […]
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood
We had a great time in class today. We created the perfect softly shaded sky for our trees. The canvases from Colors of Praise are so beautifully painted that I didn’t want to cover all the shading. That is after all one of the things that originally drew me to the canvas. You can imagine […]
Our bird has flown home
The final step in our Mystery Classes is when my piece returns from the finisher. I am pleased to announce that Mama Bird is home and safely guarding her nest. She resides happily in the shop so that you can visit her anytime. I had Karen from Zecca make even more buttons to as she […]
Needlepoint can fool your eye
Today was the first class of a new Mystery at Bedecked and Beadazzled. We are stitching the lovely very traditional Colors of Praise Tree. Marie Barber the designer behind the Colors of Praise line is a delight. She has years of designing for Cross Stitch in her history and has now branched into needlepoint. Her […]
There’s a New Girl in Town!
Julia Snyder, author of 187 Amazing Stitches, Backgrounds & Such, Categories for Needlepoint Stitches, Darn Fillings and Everything Blackwork is New Again spent the weekend with us at Bedecked and Beadazzled. What fun we had! Julia is talented beyond measure. She has so many creative ideas. On Saturday we all stitched Raymond Crawford’s ornament tree. […]
Frightfully Delicious
Now, just what happens when you get two crazy designers together? Mischeif, Mayhem and Madness that’s what. Kelly Clark and I collaborated on a Frightfully Delicious Monthly Halloween series. Kelly designed the candies and I stitched them up double quick with the help of a little extra magic. Each canvas is painted on 18ct and […]
Renewed, Recharged, Refocused….
YIKES! Yes, yikes. Brenda Hart was here last weekend and the energy in the shop was truly a tangible thing. We all selected our projects we wanted her to guide but somewhere early on we started to drift. One new project became two. Two new projects became three. Yikes! There was just so much creativity […]
Save the Date
Late breaking news! Don’t you just love the Creepy Characters Club by the Needle Deeva? For as cute as they are here, once I saw them live and in person at the June market they are doubly cute. Well, here’s your chance to not only own a 10th super cute ornament but to take a […]
It’s all in the finishing touches….
Yesterday was the first day of market in Columbus. The show was quiet but that certainly didn’t dampen our excitement for the beautiful finished models. Dede has a great dimensional fish covered in beautiful coral and seaweed. When finished and mounted on a stand or a board for hanging it is a show stopper. […]
I can’t believe the fun is over
This canvas has been so much fun to stitch. As Judith said in class today it was liberating. Not too many rules, fresh bold colors and lots of big stitches. That’s exactly what I felt this canvas called for – freshness and a little funkiness. One of my surprises for today’s class was a bag […]
Wowsey wowsey the frame completes the story
OK, I admit it; the frame is totally over the top. It’s actually 3 frames, a small red frame and then a silver leaf frame and then this yummy high gloss dimensional swirly, curly frame to finish the story. It’s the perfect snow covered frame for a day that was well into the 90’s.
What’s one more mystery between friends?
Well, I admit it. I have little to no willpower. There are just too many things I want to stitch. Today I decided to add another project to the pile. I also decided that this particular canvas that’s going into the pile could be a fun Mystery with a Twist. What’s a Mystery with a […]
The flowers are a’blooming!
Wowsy, wowsy. The flowers on our mystery canvas have burst into bloom in the last few weeks. Just like flowers in a garden one day you look and there they are. Just like flowers in a garden no two are alike. They are great fun to stitch. All the flowers use basically the same stitches, […]
Silly, Sassy, Sparkly Socks
Allow me to introduce our latest and sparkliest club. The Silly, Sassy, Sparkly Sock Club. Six small socks all complete with stitch guides and ready for you stitch and embellish. I designed the socks and my dear friend Vicky De Angelis created the stitch guides. You are going to love these socks! Some even come […]
What a group – an eclectic one at best.
This past weekend was another fun filled embellishment weekend with the inimitable Brenda Hart. Brenda comes several times a year and we pick her brain. Each student selects a different canvas and then Brenda is challenged to select threads and stitches for the canvas. One of the most interesting things is the diversity in canvases. […]
Is this not just tooooooo cool?
Back from the finisher one of those wonderful pieces that exceeds your expectations. The EyeCandy Needleart 3d Fall Tree. Now, granted you do have to stitch the tree 3 times to create this piece of wonderment but I think it is well worth the effort. This tree belongs to Pat and she had a great […]
Home Decor for Santa
The Noel and Jingle pillows from our Holiday Mystery Class have finally returned from the finisher. They are lovely. Not sure they are exactly what I had in mind but they are lovely non-the-less. I will say whenever I see them, all I can picture is the spread in Architectural Digest on Santa and Mrs. […]
Let the games begin
We’ve done the tedious parts of the canvas (the sky, the dirt); now we have flowers and leaves and the dragonfly to play with! You probably know my attention span by now, so I’m excited by the flowers. Fun little gems we can bring to life. There’s lots of color and detail left. Let’s start […]
