A quick note from an unapologetic 18-count girlie… this ribbon behaves a little differently than your everyday stitching thread, but that’s also part of its charm. On 18-count canvas, I recommend working with shorter lengths—which is why we precut it for you—and opening the holes with an awl or laying tool before you stitch. On 13-count canvas, you can usually skip that step. Either way, you’ll get the best results by paying attention to how the ribbon lays as you stitch. This isn’t a thread for basketweave. It’s a thread for long stitches, laid fillings, and those special accents where you want the color and shimmer to do all the talking.
